WEll got 2 'quotes' tonight and both said...
1) Try to redo pipe work - may work may not - new tank if not
2) New tank straight off - £500-1000
3) New combi boioler £2000 -2300

Ouch!

Think I may get some sealent out!

Right - any suggestions on my next plan...

Replace the expansion vessel and the pressure reducing valve? along with sections of pipe from rising mains feed to tank x 2
Is this a simple replacement job (after draining tank etc??)

I will be in Coventry next week in case anyone fancies a curry there.

Then again the second week in September as well. However all previous attempts to get anyone to have a "meet and eat" have failed but I will try again this time just in case.

However, the OP is in Staffordshire which is a long way from Coventry up the M6 or the M6 Toll. The police now do speed checks with unmarked cars on the M6 Toll. When it first opened it was a 100+ road!
