New lawn - feed it?

Hi,

I have had a new lawn put down 4 weeks ago and it's growing nicely. I cut it for the first time today and it still feels very soft ground ( not sure if that's good or not ) and some of the grass is a bit yellow in places. The question I was wondering about is should I use some lawn food on it and if so which kind?

You don't need to feed a new lawn, keep it watered well.

if the water doesnt drain away, if your soil hasnt good drainage then yes you can overwater.

with regard to the OP and feeding, id leave it another month at least and look at autumn feeds to encourage root growth. init
