New plaster, paint won't take on a few spots

Just had new plasterboard fitted and skimmed. Waited to dry and painting with white emulsion. I noticed even with the watered down mist coat, I'm not getting good coverage in some spots. Painting over this, it continues. No peeling or bubbling or flaking but as I'm painting, I can see it's just not 'sticking'.
Mainly seems to be in edges. Not sure if this photo will show it well, this is after mist coat and first proper coat.

Should I just give problem areas an extra coat?

Did you scratch it a bit?
I know it's unorthodox, but it worked for me

Worth a try for the time it'd take, I'll give it a shot. Thanks

The plasterer may have over "polished" the plaster. (as mentioned above) Sanding with 180 grit or rougher sand paper should help.

You mention mainly the edges.

Is it where you may have used a brush rather than a roller?

A roller tends to apply more paint.

What paint are you using?

(Crown by any chance?)

Splashes of PVA and areas where ordinary filler have been used can also be difficult to cover.

Yeah mostly where cutting in but even if I try to go over with a roller, it just seems to end with virtually no paint.

Bog standard trade paint from Screwfix :)
