Hi recently had new plasteaboard plastered In ktchen for tiling but daughter has whitewashed the walls does it need to be removed or can I just use gripcoat as I've got some left over cheers

Ideally you would have been better just tiling straight on to un-plastered boards, but no worries, I would sand-down the walls to be tiled, this will offer a better key and then prime walls with PVA.

Prime walls with PVA...

Aye right...Pbod....ya know what yer talking about ther.....ffs

Cookie score the plasterboard slightly with a Stanley blade then if you want to prime the walls...use an acrylic primer...not PVA..

Or better still get some heavy duty tape(gaffer tape)..put strips onto the wall leave 10mim pull off and it will probably bring the paint off..tile away...

PVA....again....ffs...
