Hi,

I don't know how to explain really, what I want to do is ceiling mount my projector.

I want to mount the projector close to the back wall and be able to plug it into the wall about 6 inches from the ceiling behind the projector so I don't have wires trailing down the wall.

I need to get power to the projector, there are a couple of sockets about 6 feet to the left of position where I would like the projector at the bottom of the wall.

The house i am living in is brand new and the walls are plaster board. So what would be the best way of adding the socket?

Thanks In Advance!

Dave

Use a switched fused spur. You can take a spur from one of the sockets, which cables will be under floor/above ceiling. Then have FSU in ceiling next to projector

OR a socket in the ceiling.....

And an outlet plate for the video connection aswell........or use a flex outlet plate or something.

I have the outlet plates for the video connections and I am unable to access the floor above so I need to go from the power socket at the bottom of the wall but how do I get it behind the plaster board and how to I patch the plaster board afterwards?

You'll find the ceiling is held up with pieces of wood call joists. These will get in the way of running cable in at least one direction.

The walls similarly will be supported on wood runs (if they are stud walls) and will have the same restrictions.
You will be in for some serious digging holes and making good. Remember that unprotected cables must be more than 50mm from the surface if they are not run vertically or horizontally from a socket, switch etc....
