Hi All,
We're in the process of an extension right now and are having a brand new sealed system bolier/cylinder/central heating system installed as part of the work
I'm looking for a smart thermostat for the system and was leaning towards Tado, but the builder raised the issue that there is no Cylinder Thermostat option that they offer.
Now, looking around, it seems there are no smart systems that offer a cylinder thermostat, so just wondering how this works with any smart system?
It seems (to my limited knowledge) that every smart system purely has a boiler on/off, so I'm likely to end up with a dumb cylinder thermostat which may try to pull heat outside of the on/off hours and therefore won't get it? Presumably the opposite would also apply that it would only pull heat in the on hours when it needed it (which is good)
What's the answer? No on/off for hot water, using only the cylinder stat? Just live with the above? Don't go smart?
Any and all thoughts appreciated!
