I've just had a new shower installed. The spray from the old one wasn't power shower quality but it was sufficient. Thames Water says pressure is 2 bar, litres per minute are 24 from water meter but just 10 lpm where it enters the bungalow (perhaps due to furred lead piping). And with it being a bungalow there's less of a drop. But still, there was a reasonable spray coming out of the old shower and there is really nothing more than a light trickle from the new one. The bathroom taps are more powerful than the shower. I'm going to raise this with the firm who installed it but I wonder if anyone can suggest why the old one was ok and the new one definitely isn't. And what's best to do.

Have you check if any inlet filters are clogged up and also check the shower rose/head.

Thanks Dum, it's a Bathstore shower (and it's just been installed through them). I've tried adjusting the head and it can give a sort of rain effect which makes it appear as though a bit more water is coming out but it's so soft and so weak that it's not effective.
Bathstore shower means nothing, what type/model is it, there are whole host of shower types, they should have left you the manufacturer's instruction for the shower, the details should be there.
They should have also checked that water pressure and flow rates prior to installing and again after installing. I would contact them if you are seeing rates of flow less than expected or suitable for the shower.

Most of there showers (usually cheaper European type) will work on 2 bar but poor power. Usually 3 bar plus is needed for reasonable operation
I got in touch with Bath Store manager today who says it must be down to an airlock. The valve and water outlet are an old Aqualisa already in situ. Bath Store just provided a new hose and shower head. The manager said the flow should just be the same as before - except if there's an airlock. The fitter is coming back on Tuesday so hopefully he'll be able to fix this.
The shower just runs off a condensing boiler with cold and hot water tanks. Nothing fancy at all!

Just a hose an head! That's not a new shower then is it?mi suspect you will have more prob than this I'm afraid doubt an airlock...
That sounds a bit scary! What sort of other causes could there be do you think? I hope it can be sorted.
The problem was down to the packing. There was a little silicon disk protecting the top of the hose still in situ. Once removed, the flow much improved.
