New shower (revisited)

OK got the 10mm cable and a new CU with matching MCB plus a new 2pole switch do I use the 40amp or 50amp mcb? that is the question and before i put it all in can I wack the mcb into the old CU with the 6mm cable just so,s I can have a shower as I'm staRTING TO STINK!

How far is your run of cable from the CU to the shower?
I assume you meant there's an RCD on the CU?

the run is about 15ft its a 10kw shower unit and yes there is an RCD on the CU

Use a 45 amp MCB. Your shower uses 43.48 amps.

Well, your shower uses more than the 40 amp, so I suppose you'll have to use the 50 amp.

Richard, the 40A will be sufficient for the shower. If you use the 50A, that exceeds the cable rating.
