I noticed that the toilet was taking a long time to fill up so I took it apart and saw that the siamp diaphragm was ruptured. I replaced it with a new one and now the float valve won't shut off the water refill when and it keeps filling with water. When i put the old siamp diaphragm back on, the water shuts off as expected (although takes ages to fill up). What wil the water not shut off with new diaphragm?? It is exactly the same make, just not ruptured like the old one. All the connection areas are lined up properly.
