New system boiler valiant - did I need a new zone valve.

the boiler man has just fitted me a new green iq system boiler from vaillant. He also fitted 2 honey wellzone valve.

But did I need one given the boiler manual says the following.


System boiler with integral 3-way valve

4-pipe system to provide load compensation in DHW mode as well as CH mode. No more complex wiring systems, junction boxes or external zone valves

How many pipes coming from the bottom of the boiler?

was it practical to run another flow and return from the boiler to the cylinder ?
