New thermostat for Worcester Bosch 24i junior

Hello. I currently have a MT10RF mechanical timer with associated rf unit fitted to my boiler (Worcester Bosch 24i junior). The thermostat has become unreliable and i was wondering what you would recommend as a replacement? I would prefer something a little more high tech than the mechanical one i have at the moment. Do i need a new rf unit? Do other thermostats use this same system? I'd rather not have to take the cover off if i could avoid it.
