The glass on our patio table shattered so I am left with a nice alluminium frame. The top is 45" diameter (115cm) and there is a bevel or rebate all the way round where the glass used to fit.

Any suggestions on how to build a new top - I though some sort of hardwood boards but was shocked at the cost of new wood.
Any suggestions welcome !

For something nice how about tile backer board with mosacis/thin tiles. Maybe too thick though.
