Hi folks.
I've had a new combi boiler fitted just over a fortnight ago.Never had a combi so I'm still getting used to the settings.
On the bar it is fluctuating between 1,2 and 1,3 going up and down when the boiler isn't being used.
Could someone tell me what this means please?
Also When the CH is on the radiators get to a certain temp then they switch off altogether! They don't come back on by their self,I have to go the the thermostat and turn it up to bring the CH back on again. Are they meant to work this way? With my old boiler the heating stayed on continuously until I turned it off?
I've had the installers service guys out and they said it's all working as it should?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Do you want your boiler to burn gas 24/7
If so get your installer to put a link between 1 and 3 on the room stat.
That will definitely sort your problem and help with N Power or BG profits as well.
The thermostat is doing its job. Learn how to use it to YOUR advantage.

That's what I am trying to do.Learn how to work it properly and obviously to my advantage.
Of course I don't want it burning gas 24/7?I also don't like the fact that just as the room is getting warm it switches itself off?
I thought the were meant to maintain a reasonable heat?
Just as the radiators are getting nice and hot,off they go and don't come back on again?
I then have to get up and turn the thermostat up or off and on again and the cycle continues.
If that is what they are supposed to do then it really is a poor design as the room doesn't get the chance to heat up properly?

And depends what stat it is? Is it new? If it's an older one, they may have the switch wire the wrong way round meaning the neutral isn't using the anticipator

I have been to two flats where the room stat has been wired backwards.

To get heating you had to turn the stat DOWN !

But in neither case had anyone noticed! Maybe the OP was living there?

Yep!It's a brand new install.
I don't know maybe I'm just not used to how it's meant to operate. Before this I had a back boiler system and turned the heating on/off as I pleased. It's just a bit annoying when the room is just heating up it goes off.At least it goes back on if I turn it off/on again.
