Hi,
I have an existing water butt that I am replacing with two, much taller ones. Inevitably the current location of the cut in the downpipe (DP) for the water diverter, is way too low! So I will need to make a new, higher cut.

Will I need to replace the whole DP (not sure this is even possible) or is there something else I can do to avoid doing that, ie seal up the old cut somehow, use a special bracket etc??? I have a square shaped DP.

Thank you greatly for any helpful advice for an amateur DIYer.
