Im new to all this but I would like my kitchen worktop cut and fitted. Its three lengths so with two joins and i have a sink to cut out. I also wanted the splashback in the same material up the walls over tiling so holes for plugs etc

Now... to you DIY forum experts this may seem easy enough... but is it an easy job??? Or should I get someone in... a carpenter.. specialist kitchen fitter etc?

The lengths of the worktops are 250cm, 250cm and 102cm. I know this is VERY vague and deserves a vague answer but what sort of costing would I be looking at to have someone else fit it.. and what kinda person should I look for.

cheers
Richie

Id try the carpentry forum mate..

It's not an easy job and you require routers and jigs.

I'd say £300 ish.

Now i have had a new kitchen worktop fitted 230cm and 182cm with sink cutout. The guy also changed by bath, WC and sink. He is also replacing my 50cmx 30cm area of floorboards under the washing machine.

He has charged me 250 quid labour. I was lucky since someone quoted me 350 quid for just the bathroom suite. I would say for a days work around 150-200 quid but depends on the work involved.

As said about a days work, though there is quite a bit involved. Sounds a silly question but would you want the splashbacks secured to the wall during the worktop fitting, therefore assuming all electric cabling is in situ to pull through splashback?

In London £250 for labour, try a kitchen fitter 1st, they will have all the routers and jigs for the joints.

Good luck
