Hi
After Big-All explained how to disable the dead lock feature on night latches, I decided to apply the same technique on a family member's night latch.
I have however noticed that it has an unrelated problem.
When you insert the key in the barrel and rotate. The latch bolt pulls back as expected but if you turn the key a little too far the latch bolt pops back out again. The key is then free to keep turning until you reach the same point where the bolt pulls in and pops back out again.
I removed the lock, inserted a flat head screw driver, and yep, it does the same thing
I then took the back off the lock but I cannot see any obvious signs of wear and tear.
AFAIK the lock was fitted by a lock-smith just over a year ago. I don't recall seeing a brand name on the lock.
Is it just a crap brand? Is this a "common" fault?
