Nissan micra central Locking problem

I have a four year old nissan micra with a drivers door central locking problem. When I use the key fob, the lock makes a strange 'clonking' noise as it locks. This noise is not apparent on the passenger door. When I lock the car from the inside using the electronic switch the drivers door locks perfectly without any noise. I have changed key fobs and the problem still exists.

Can anyone help.

Take the door card off aqnd have a look. It's likely to be one of the locking rods catching on something
