Nissan Micra K12 - steering wheel locked, key not turning

try pushing the key before you turn it on

Not unknown unfortunately, but first try squirting some WD40 down the key slot and then trying a spare key, waggling the wheel as usual as you try.
I've fitted new locks to the K11 - that wasn't too bad - but the K12 has little access around the steering column.

It might have been parked with some load going through the steering column. Try turning the key at the same time as applying a bit of twist to the steering wheel (one way and then the other), to see which way takes the load off the steering lock pin.
