Hi recently 2 of the lights NMI226/HF/840 Downlight style

They have stopped working .one did flicker for a second when you turn on but now they just don't work ,tried new bulbs but no luck ,is the units likely to be knackered or is there a starter in there somewhere
..cheers

HF means High frequency so there will be no starters, i take it the new lamps were 4 pin that you fitted, the ballast failing will affect both lamps, it is easily replaceable if its failed.
No need for the big bold font :)

When you remove the whole unit, the top will unscrew and inside will likely be a ballast similar to this.
Usually about 20 pound, so if you want to keep the fittings then cheaper than the whole fitting.
An alternative, if they dont need to match others is too replace the whole thing with a round led panel.

Ok, if you can ISOLATE the power and get 1 out, im sure we can quide you through replacing the ballast.
Is this in your house, as it sounds more a commercial setting, so there may be certain liabilities if you are doing the work.
