No 10's front door..

Ok so 10 Downing street's front door comes off every 2yrs to be painted (what you didn't know ) And another exactly the same gets re-fitted.

I know if you keep using the same screw holes your going to have a problem.Do you think that they have some other type of fixing for the hinges.Maybe they have large hinges that stay attached to the frame,and studs in the door and using nuts to hold the hinges?

How many times hes this door been off ?

it must be a heavy door, might be steel-plated in a steel frame under the woodwork. If it was me I'd use lift-off hinges.

yeah apparently the door can only be opened from the inside,and iirc its(they)are bomb proof and i bet its not hanging on a pair and a half of 4"butts
