I have a R1225 Oil Tank with a plastic tube showing the level.
The green ball has sunk to the bottom of the tube.
Can I....refloat it.....replace it.....send a diver down ?
Seriously can this be done without major dismantling and if so , how, please.
Thanks

Are you sure the oil level has not dropped??

Have you pressed the button to read the gauge??

Better still fit an oil tank watchman!!

The green ball is at the bottom of the guage, have dipped the tank for the level, once I know where to look on the pipe I can see the level, have pulled the knurled screw out at the bottom of the pipe, the ball does not move. What is a tank watchman please.

Its an elecronic sensor fitted to the tank (you should have a cover on top of the tank). It has a battery fitted and sends a signal to a reciever which you plug into a socket in the house !!

Have had a look at the Watchman, looks good but am wondering what a careless oil-man might do to it, also I can see the tube through the window so it would seem to be over-kill.
The ball seems to have some goo above it, stopping it floating.
Can I remove the plastic sighting pipe to clean it, I realise the bottom valve would need to be closed.
