A powermax is a thermal store so if burner locks out & you reset it the htg shouldn't come on until store has got to temperature
Saw one in a new house on a big estate. Not got involved in 1 yet but they look like they could be trouble. a thermal store with its own built in burner. any body got any experiance's of them. this onewas mounted in a cupboard on a box so u could hardly se into the gas valve,fan & electrics.

I have been up to have a look at the feed and expansion cistern and there is plenty of water in there. also had a look at the float valve and all seems ok.
Still working ok at the minute so may be just a small amount of air that you first suggested.
