No fan activity on Potterton puma 80

I have this boiler installed in a house I have just moved to and it had started to play up over the last week.

Fan has been making a noise (like bearing are failing)
Pilot light keeps going out

Now when you demand HW or CH there is no fan and it doesnt fire - the pilot light is extinguished after a few minutes.

When demanding HW the red light comes on the PCB but is otherwise off.

Is the fan knackered?
if so can i fix this myself?

Sounds like the bearings on the fan are going. We had one in a property that started doing this. You can buy a fan from various companies on the internet, but you'll need a gassafe fitter to replace it, as the combustion chamber needs opening to gain access to the fan.

It kinda confirms my suspicions, although I am in no way any kind of expert (or even novice).
