No green light on boiler , no heating

I have a pressurised system with a worcester greenstar 15Ri boiler and a hot water cynlinder. The blue light on my boiler is solid which I believe is correct but the green gas light never comes on and when I switch the boiler on it just whers and whers.

I've let all air out of rads and also repressurised the system back up to 1 bar as it was low but still no joy.

Tried again this morning and the boiler green gas light comes on initially but then goes off. The blue solid ligjt then changes to a slow flashing blue light.

Any help would be much appreciated?

It sounds like a gas/combustion issue which would not be a DIY repair.

So apart from confirming you have a gas supply as at a working cooker it sounds as if you will need an engineer!

Thanks Tony, I have a mate who is an electrician just checking over the electrical elememts of the heating system but it is looking as though it's a boiler fault. I will likely end up calling an engineer. M
