Hi all,
Looking for some advice. We've been experiencing boiler problems the past few weeks and we have no heat or hot water at all at the moment.
Firstly, i've been searching this forum for a little while now so i managed to repressurise the pressure vessel as a result. I've had to do this twice in the past couple of weeks, and this no longer seems to be fixing the fault.
The boiler still has power, but the pilot light no longer comes on and the system is in a lockout state and flashes red if trying to fire it up.
After removing both the external cover and the internal cover i noticed that the internal fan situated at the base of what i believe is the flu had been snapped in half. I removed both parts and span the rod it'd been sitting on and this appeared to get the heating working again for a little while. However, now when i try this the rod just stops, and the spinning circle behind it.
I have now called British Gas, but would like to know what it is that is causing the fault? just for my own interest if nothing else.
