Hi
this is an old house with some modernisation to the CH system. The boiler (about 4 years old) is Halstead Best db 80. The system is open, part pumped, part gravity.
After fitting a new rad, the boiler strikes up when cold. The pump seems to be working and circulating water through rads... but the circulated water is cold and there is no hot water going to tank. feed from boiler to pump is getting very hot, not much going on from pump onwards. consequently, the boiler sits idle, I suppose 'thinking' the temp of the system is at optimum.
please could anyone advise what the problem might be, where to start looking? I have called an engineer, but am waiting for call back
many thanks
