I have a Worcster 280 RSF.This morning heating fired up for 15-30 seconds only.We are getting hot water.I suspect the diverter valve is stuck.Recently the opposite thing happened.Turning on the tap did not produce hot water but the CH flow pipe began to heat up.I have bought a new valve in case but my fitter has been ill and is now snowbound.

I would be grateful for any advice.

I am not sure what advice you are expecting?

If its jamming in the DHW position then the pin may be stuck out and could be pushed back perhaps.

Sometimes the switch fails in the on position but wobbling the microswitch lever can alter the electrical position. Even so if that was the case you would still get CH but without a demand.

All that one could say is to hope the snow clears soon and your fitter gets better quickly or find another.
