No heating or hot water but boiler very hot

Problem solved it was a double fault. The system pressure gauge was faulty, showing 2.3 bar when, in fact it was 0.1 bar. The system being so low caused the pump to fault.
New pump and a new gauge and heat and hot water again.

Thanks to all for the advice in narrowing this down.

Fwiw the lever on a zone valve will be floppy if the valve is open, ie if the system is live and the stat is calling for heat.
