Hi, Please could anyone give me some advice about getting no heating or hot water from a Baxi Back boiler with bermuda VP3 fire. My dad has just moved in to the house today and has just had to switch everything on. We think the pilot light may probably not be lit but don't know how to light it as we have no instructions and the landlord is anyway til the new year. The fire works fine. Not sure if getting the water reconnected will have anything to do with it but thought I would mention it because we heard the tank filling up when it was reconnected.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

First bleed all rads and make sure that system is full before you try and fire it up..

Pull the bottom front off the fire then as you look under there will be a grey push button.. press this in and to the left of boiler stat will be an ignition button press this rapidly so spark lights the pilot ,keep grey button pressed in for a further 30 secs and pilot should hold and light the boiler

INstructions are at partsarena.com/baxi.

Fire isn't really connected with the boiler

The pilot can be almost impossible to see, depending on the model. With the fire off you should be able to hear it if you get down there, though.

And your pump's possibly stuck if it hasn't been used for a good while. (see FAQ)
