Hi, I have a Mexico ideal boiler with a honeywell st6400c timer
and v4074 upstairs next to the tank.

I cannot get the heating to come on (boiler to work) without putting the hot water on.

Once the once the hot water is heated up it goes off.

Can any one suggest how i can either get the heating to come on on its own or to keep it on for longer than it takes to heat up the hot water?

cheers

Thank you for your reply.

I can get the heating on for a short time if i gently move the leaver towards the manual side.

but this only works for a short time

You've been given the answer to your problem. While you're replacing the head, check that the valve spindle moves freely.

Either the motor has gone if its not moving the valve, or if it is moving the valve one of the micro switches has gone.
Replacing the head is the best advice
