Hi wonder if anyone can help. We have Potterton Kingfisher Mf boiler, installed about 18 months ago. We've noticed the last couple of weeks that we have no hot water, at first we thought it was because it was on really low, but have tried turning it right up and still no hot water, however central heating works fine. Recently we have had some re-wiring done on the house. We don't see how this could make a difference, but seems a bit odd that it's happened now.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Have you still got mains power going through to the controller box that then sends power/signal to the valve motor?

Does the valve motor work (usually contained in a small metal box connected to the pipework via a brass fitting). You can remove the top of the case and watch the servo mechanism moving to press on a micro switch. If it don't do that then maybe you've lost power to it or blown the motor head - inexpensive to replace thank god!

I had the opposite problem to you, hot water but no CH. Turned out to be the motor in the Mid position valve. Bought a new motor from Wickes (£15) and fitted it myself....only a couple of screws and wires, took 5 mins to replace.
