Evening all I am looking for some advice.

I have a house in france (where I am now) and the boiler has a problem. The boiler is a De Dietrich 2.24 B/P. It is a combi bolier and it runs on LPG gas.

When we turned on boiler the central heating is fine as is the cold water flow. However, the hot water does not fire up the boiler when it is turned on and the flow starts ok but runs to a trickle in a matter seconds.

As its holiday season in france the likely hood of getting hot water in the next week is limited.

Does anyone know what the problem maybe and is it likely to need a plummer or is it something a diyer could attempt?

i

any thoughts advice etc would be grealy appreciated

many thanks and happy Easter :D

Sounds like the hot water heat Exchanger is blocked with scale! ;)

Time to call le plombier de france

Thanks Boilerman.

I will get our boiler man out when I can though french hols at the moment may mean that we will be out of hot water for the week.

We are in Brittany near Lannion and the water here is quite soft. we get very little in the way of scale in dishwasher and kettle but its time for a service anyway

thanks again

If you have the installation instructions have a look for a filter in the cold water supply, might be a simple fix and save you having no hot water for a week.
