No hot water!! - HELP!!!

Hi i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me.

We have a combi boiler....and the hot water is only luke warm.

I have checked our three way valve and that is working fine (as far as i can see), i think hot water is being produced (one of the pipes near the tank is very warm) but all the pipes around the valve are cold.

What could this be? i am thinking pump....but for obvious reasons i don't want to run to screw fix, buy a pump..and be left with a spare!

any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated....

what boiler is it? and what tank? you said you have a combi but doesnt sound like it. Does heating work? Information is lacking!

assuming u dont have a combi...put the hot water (at the boiler/programmer)on and see if the pipe going into the tank get hot (pipe halfway down the cylinder) and comes out cooler (inline with the other but below it by about 12 inches)
