No Hot Water...

Hi guys, I have a combi boiler that does the hot water and the central heating, however, the hot water has stopped working, the same as in this thread;

I have the exact same problem with the MZVs.
Mine are very difficult to get to, down the side of the tank in a small cupboard!
I've got central heating ok, but no hot water.

One of the MZV motors turns when the central heating is on, the other doesn't ever turn, so I presume this is the hot water one?

Given that this isn't turning, would that indicate the motor has gone
Changing that probably is within my capabilities.

Hmm, looking at the other post, maybe not!
It's a Potterton Profile Boiler controlled by a Drayton Tempus Three.

think you have answered your own question here. the only thing you should be checking if the valve isnt moving is if its getting 240v when demand is there, if it is and its not jammed its clearly the motor, if its not its programmer/stat/wiring.

high chance it will be the motor.

Nice to know I wouldn't be wasting my money if I bought another motor (where from?)!

yeh fairly common and they are buttons to buy, check for 240v first if you can though.

Right, I think I've knocked out a fuse whilst trying to check for power

I got a spark - the controller won't display 'ON' now, though the controller seems to be fine.
Any idea if there is a fuse for it?
And what is the correct way to check for mains power with a multimeter?
There are crimped wiring in line to the motor that I can get the probes into.
