on my worcester bosch 280 rsf boiler the temperature dial makes no difference to the hot water weather it turned on lo or high the water stays the same temp can does any body know why this is and what can i do to solve the problem

Haha. Right well it may be as simple as the thermostat may have come out of calibration. Order yourself a new stat and drop it on. This should sort it out.
 
It is NOT a thermostat.

The temperature regulation in combis is over a very narrow range, and not very consistent because of the way they work. You would only expect the highest temp if you slow the flow right down, and the lowest temp is still pretty hot. You can only really diagnose a fault with temperature probes. It's usual that users feel that the control "doesn't do anything".

You could try changing the sensor but they more commonly fail completely than drifting. You'll need thermally conductive paste.
