Hey again,

When I got up at 6am this morning, I had water coming through my taps. When I got home from work at 3pm, I had none at all. My neighbours, however, did. Quite embarrassing to say that I found this out AFTER I used the toilet. I live in a 110 year old mid terraced property.

Thankfully I took out a small insurance with united utilities who are sending an engineer out within the next couple of hours so it shouldn't cost me anything.

Now I know there probably isn't much point in replying if I'm gonna find out the problem soon anyway but I would really appreciate any input you guys have on this subject.

Thanks

Chris

First check no-ones turned off your outside tap. (Kids will do owt for a laugh) If its open put your ear to a cold tap to see if you can hear it running upstream. If you've sprung a leak underground you will hear it (might not if the pipe has blown off completely).
