No water from bath mixer hot tap

This morning we have gone to turn the shower on using our mixer tap shower over the bath to find that turning the hot tap on produces no water from either the spout or the shower head.

There is hot water coming out of the all the other hot taps in across the house, and the combi boiler is 'firing up' for the other taps but nothing happens when we turn on the hot tap over the bath.

I'm not sure if this is at all related but previously the water from the cold tap has been a trickle with the pressure coming from the hot water but today the cold tap is producing a lot of pressure.

Has anybody got any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Maybe the spindle has snapped inside the tap and is keeping it in the closed position, or the cartridge is nackered if quarter turn.

Definately a fault with a component inside the tap by the sound of things.
