Hi all, hope you can help, I know nothing about plumbing.

We've got a gas boiler (GlowWorm) which has started making a banging noise (started probably just over a week) everytime hot water tap gets turned on. This doesn't seem to happen when the central heating come on though.

A couple of months we turned water off to change a cold water tap washer via the stop cock. - This also sorted out some water hammer from a cold tap on the bath.

Also our toilet is making a high pitch whistle when flushed, made worse if you turn on a tap.

Could this mean water flow is not good enough?

Searching through the forums, I've seen the term Kettling, could this be the problem? And houw would I go about sorting it out?

Thanks for you time.

No idea about the boiler problem I'm afraid, but the other noises are probably down to the different position you left the main stop cock when you repaired the cold tap washer. (Normally you open them fully and turn back one turn, stops them sticking, I was told.)
