Noise from first floor on Ground Floor

Is this a house in flats, or do you occupy upstairs as well?
Then do as the man suggested and put thick carpet and underlay down.
Install this?
houses converted to flats years back had no sound proofing.
I did the below.
Seal all gaps in floorboards and under skirtings with acoustic sealant continuous bead.
fit 6mm plywood,well secured.seal as above again (continuous bead).
2 layers of sound proofing mat.
acoustic carpet underlay (best you can afford)
Decent carpet.
Not cheap to do but the cheapest option and it worked.
