Noisy Actuator - we have a Drystone ZA5 (Invensys?) that will not turn off even when all central haeting controls are off?
Is this faulty? - should it run all the time?
With being in the airing cupboard the noise goes on all through the night.
Any hep apprcaited.

I think that you mean "Drayton"!

I would suggest that it probably is mechanically faulty as most designs stall the motor at the end of the travel.

Sounds as if its lost a cog on the quarter cam.

Thanks Tony, so I guess I need prof help to replace the thing!
As an amateur is there any simple actions I can take?
I know the cost of the item is not too much £30-40 - what should it take to replace it in time?
Thanks again

Newer design has easily removable head unit (no tools req'd). If so you can manipulate the valve shaft with a small spanner, and determine whether the fault is in the valve or head.
