hi,

When using the hot water in my house, there is a noise when you turn the tap off. It sounds like something tapping the pipe, it only happens for a second or so but it is getting louder.

I've had some work done in the bathroom in the summer, could this be connected?

The water pipes run, cold water from the main in the kitchen, up into the bathroom, to the boiler. The hot water takes the same route but in the opposite direction.

Thanks.

You may be suffering the effects of water hammer. Pipework that is not supported / clipped adequately contributes to this. When the flow of water is shut off very quickly ,like on a tap that has a quarter turn valve that is closed rapidly, the kinetic energy of the flowing water suddenly being arrested resounds thru the pipework. Make sure your pipework is supported properly ,if that doesn't help you can consider fitting a restor ( accumulator)
