whenever i run the cold tap in the kitchen and bathroom, the pipes make a really strange noise which is difficult to explain. i can stop the noise by flushing the toilet or running the taps really powerfully. i have been told it might be air stuck in the pipe but i am not sure. any advice would be appreciated

the noise seems to be coming from the toilet cistern though, very weird and annoying

if the toilet ain't filling it has nothing to do with it could be vibration being transmitted through the pipe work

kitchen tap should be on the mains

so possibly high water pressure ,chattering stoptap , dodgy check valve etc
