Long story short, I have been tasked with finishing a pergola for my mother in law that
someone else started.
The person that started the project dug footings and set anchors in the concrete for 4x4 posts.
Now she wants to use 6x6 posts instead of 4x4.

Is there an acceptable way to modify the posts to fit the smaller brackets or should I just dig up the footings and start over?
One more option would be to just abandon the footings and attach the posts to the conrete patio
Thanks for any help
