What’s a 'putlog'?
Ah, right……….
Well you normally stick a putlog in a putlog hole.
Probably the same shape as the log that will be put in it.And what shape is a putlog hole? (asking for a friend)

Putlogs are them holes you see in the walls of derelict castles. The logs which went in them were used like joists. Scaffolders' "putlog ends" are often called Putlogs. Those are the flattened end things which you shove in a mortar gap. Vertical ones like where Critalls go.
