We have had oak floor laid in the livingroom. The original floor was not level being higher in the middle and lower on the sides. The fitters tryed to level it by using chipwood on the sides and plywood in the middle. The floor is now higher on the sides and not level at all. Also it has been sanded so many times to try and eliminate the bumps on the sides that now has no more life. The fitters have offered to replace the floor. The problem is that we have had cupboards built in the alcoves so they cannot level the floor by packing in the joists (at least where the cupboards are). Is it possible to achieve a good result by using plywood again? Help!
