I have had extensive oak flooring installed inside my house and allowed all the necessary spaces under the skirting.

After a few weeks the wood started to warp and stretch pushing the skirting up.

I have been told it could be due to any damp present. I have all damp checked but cannot detect with the meter.

Any ideas as it seems an expensive job to replace the areas affected. :(

is the floor on joists or concrete?

if it is concrete, perhaps you aren't able to get your moisture meter to the concrete surface because of the new floor?

was the new floor in the house for a good while before installing to ensure it naturalised to room temperature?

is it a new floor in an old building, or a new floor in a new building?

new buildings are often very damp, and need a good while to dry out before finishing
