To cut a long story short, an aqaintance who's a fitter for a national company told us that the boiler wont light because we did'nt have the min 230volt supply coming in to operate the solinoid (I think ). After weeks of calls to our supplier we now have the required voltage and the boiler still wont light.
Despite the fans cutting in and a visible spark, the pilot has to be lit by taper with the plate behind the front cover removed otherwise the taper goes out due to the suction from the fans or fan.
With controls set as per users instructions, upon demand for hot water the pilot is drawn towards the gas jets by the fan and goes slightly orange but the boiler doesn't fire-up.
The said gas fitter has since gone to ground and will not answer calls, thank god for electric showers or we'd be smelly as well as cold.
Can anyone help??
