oil boiler dhw system drain help

Hi guys, i want to change a dhw cylinder , i have changed one heated by a gas boiler before so i just want to confirm that the principal remains the same for doing the job with oil boiler;

Do i just turn off boiler, isolate f&e tank (its open vented) and drain from lowest point??

I am also a bit concerned about refilling (i maybe thinking to far ahead now but here goes) after refilling is there any diagnostics to help if the boiler wont fire up e.g like in a gas boiler the diagnostic codes in the manual tell you the fault??

Why would draining a boiler prevent it firing.

thanks for reply, pretty much the same draining process so.. Oh im just saying incase something like that does happen.
