Hi, probably a very simple answer to this one so here goes, i'm a plumber who has been asked by a regular customer to go and look at an oil boiler with a suspected leak from the flexi hose oil connection, if i get there and find i need to replace the hose will i have to bleed the oil through the new one to expel any air and if so how is this done?

Thanks

Replace the hose and run the burner.
Chances are there will be enough oil left in the pump to get it going.

Otherwise open the pressure test point a few turns and run the burner.
You should get air and bubbles and then the burner should fire.
You might need to reset and repeat a couple of times if the burner locks out before it gets going.

Sometimes depending on the feed pipe you might need a vacuum pump to pull the oil through. Went to one like that before christmas no oil coming
through the line from the tank even with oil in the tank must have been air lock in the pipe.
