Hi before i start i don't know the names of any components on the boiler, But i will tell you what i have done. Last night i bled the system of air, After this i had no hot water and the heating wouldn't heat up. I have had 3 of my family look at it and they don't seem to know what is wrong! But some how we got the heating to work and the water to get up to warm, But it wont go past warm! We know the pump is working and it has pressure... and it fires up! So what have i done by bleeding it and what can we do to get the water to hot? Also it is hot if you run the tap slow!

If it is a combi boiler, unvented system, with no hot water cylinder, then you will need to repressure the system. If it is a vented system (with a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard). You will probably find that the small head tank in the attic has no water in it due to the ball valve being stuck.

it is a vented system, it has an exhaust. and it heats the water for the heating and the water. And it has one and a half bar of pressure

What is the make and model No of the boiler, is it a worcester heatslave, did you bleed the radiators with the heating switched off?. Have you bled the air from the top of the boiler?.

yes it is a worcester heatslave 15/19. I did bleed the air out of the rads with them on, and bled the air from the top of the boiler, also the red tank which droped the pressure (i didnt know i shouldnt of done this) so we let water back in to take it up to 2 bars. somebody said it might be the diverter valve slighly blocked, and when you pull the lever on the side it is not spring loaded anymore its all floppy if you understand that?

If you bled the rads with the heating switched on this has probably sucked air into the system. So bleed them with the heating OFF and bleed the three air vents on the top of the boiler (under the top cover).

Right i have bled the rads with the heating off, ALOT of air came out of a few. Bled the 3 valves on top of the boiler, they all have water coming out of them, But the water is still warm and even goes cold, then back walm again, And then cold :( god know what it is, does it sound like the diverter valve?

Does the boiler stay on when heating is selected, can you hear the pump running?. The hot water will take a while to get hot, the diverter valve lever will be loose when heating is ON but restistance will be felt when OFF

the heating is on and very hot and no the boiler comes on then goes off, i suppose because the water in the rads is at the right tempreture? But the water is still cold, it has a hot burst when you first switch the tap on and then goes cold snd warm again. AND yes the pump is working ok, i can feel it and hear it....... they fitted a brand new one no more than six months ago

Ok, turn off the heating and wait for twenty minutes or so, you should hear the boiler firing every so often, ,this is to heat the water in the heatslave tank, Then see if the water gets hot after this time.

In that case I would suspect that the Diverter valve is faulty, you should feel resistance on the lever with the heating off

when the heating is on you cant move the diverter valve lever, but when its off you can
